I went on an interview in which the first 10 minutes or so the employer spent telling me all about the salary and benefits (including which health insurance company the place uses). The employer mentioned salary and benefits first (literally first) and I still lost. If you had a competing offer, then you could certainly use that as leverage to get them moving a little quicker, but it sounds like this is the only thing you’ve got in the pipeline.
