Nope, it’s not unprofessional, and in fact I’d recommend that you not mention it to your boss ahead of time if you believe that he’ll actively try to cover up the situation. In fact, I work in an office very close to one Federal agency and I can say, without a doubt, that almost half of the people I've seen walk in and out of the gates are under the age of 27.
