Evil HR Lady

I’m a new HR person in a small business of 60 people. I’m posting a job description, and my boss wants me to use the same job posting template and application process the company has used in the past. I reviewed this template, only to find out that it requires applicants to submit their college GPAs and information about where they went to high school. These aren’t entry-level roles. I am currently still in college and involved in a number of clubs that require me to email administrators, deans, and other official people at my university. Ask A Manager

A reader writes: I’ve been with my husband for 25 years. For the last six years we have worked for the same company, in the same division and even on the same floor. It’s actually worked out really well, except for one thing. Five years ago, he came home with a hickey on his neck. I soon found out that he was having a year-long affair with a woman from one of the other offices. It was a really ugly time after that. He told me he wasn’t sure he loved me and he wasn’t as attracted to me.

Someone from the other department is retiring and his “girlfriend” is just finishing up her degree and is currently interning for our company. The reason that I call her his “girlfriend” is that I’ve seen her makeup on the side of his face and they jump apart from each other when someone enters the room.
