How To Prepare for Your Salary Negotiation [6 Clever Ideas]

The Undercover Recruiter

By that I mean doing some simple salary calculations so you go into an interview with a range in mind. Negotiating salary during the interview process can be very overwhelming. Sure, negotiating a salary can be uncomfortable, however, if you take less than you think you’re worth, you’ll be unfulfilled financially won’t stick with your new job for the long-term. Career Alley

Tips for Landing Your First Job as a College Grad

Career Alley

Finding your first job after college can be a daunting task. Many college grads are astounded by the minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience expected for most positions, while others find that an entry-level salary in their field won’t pay the bills. Both groups hit obstacles when long lists of job requirements aren’t met by their minimal on-the-job experiences. But it’s hard to create a beefy resume without any practical job experience. Good luck in your search.

should I expand my job search outside of my industry, my coworkers aren’t working, and more

Ask a Manager

I search job boards every day and see little that I’m qualified for. I am not an administrative professional but I work in the construction industry.

employee’s boyfriend keeps making her late for work, seriously ill employee who’s making mistakes, and more

Ask a Manager

Employee’s boyfriend keeps making her late for work. I manage an employee, who does good work. This is fine in principle as our company has no policy on dating coworkers and they work in different departments. Over the past two months or so, my employee has been late for work nearly every day, by up to 20 minutes. We work in a department where certain tasks have to be completed by certain times, so it’s important employees are on time.

Ask a Manager

He has a habit of lying and blaming others for his mistakes, and just not showing up for his work hours. Manager won’t check if meeting times work for other people. One of us, who commutes and normally works a half-day from home that day, had a medical appointment scheduled outside the city. Most times we’re able to make the meetings work without too much fuss. If it’s wildly, wildly outside the scope of your job, possibly.

I’m a manager trying to protect my employees from this as I completely disagree. I just started working from home for a company based in a different state than me.
