taking work calls on my honeymoon, traveling after graduating, and more

Ask a Manager

Do I really need to take calls from work on my honeymoon? The original plan was to go to Hawaii, but due to the times, we are staying put. lying about employment dates, changing out of biking clothes at work, and more

Ask a Manager

Biking to work and changing clothes when I get there. The workplace is three miles from my home. I live in a place where rain is pretty commonplace, and in order to look presentable at work, I would need to cycle in appropriate waterproofs and change at work (also, I am a woman who would be predominantly wearing skirts/dresses for work, which aren’t very practical for cycling). Sure, no law prevents him from doing what he’s doing.

Why men should give women flowers | Penelope Trunk's Brazen Careerist

Penelope Trunk

The act of giving flowers elicits a r eal smile (as opposed to a fake, oh-that-was-nice smile) more often than other gifts of similar cost, according to research from Jeannette Haviliand-Jones , psychologist at Rutgers University. Men give flowers at work, too. This seems like a good time to link to the post about when I got flowers from Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce.com. That said, I do love getting flowers from my men-friends. That includes managers at work.

He told me I should have told people at work. He told me it’s weird that he heard about my engagement from the two people in his life who follow my blog closest: his girlfriend and his mom. Here’s the missing part (from my missing response to the missing comments): The farmer's lawyer recommended that the farmer threaten to leave the farm in order to get an irrevocable inheritance. I read the comments from farm families and gave them extra weight.
