I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be a tall, white man. While I am Caucasian, I’m not tall or male. And because depending on who you ask, between 70-80 percent of leaders have all three attributes, I’m wondering just how much my lack of two of them has held me back. When I talked, off the record, to a gender bias researcher at a prestigious U.S. university, she informed me that I should not take my success for granted.
