I work for a fancy hotel, and a manager at another hotel in the next city (owned by the same company) over has been creating all sorts of problems for us. When I arrived at the hotel a couple of days later, they said he hadn’t sent the form and needed it by the end of the day or they couldn’t let me stay. One of those Right Away candidates had a great phone interview and a great in-person interview and took the job within 24 hours of offering.

My job (professor) requires a lot of travel to conferences and other places, all on my own credit card and sometimes I can get it reimbursed. I’m so angry about it, I’m starting to look for another job; but thought I should find out whether this is common or not.
